EXCLUTON
COMPANY: X-INGREDIENT
PROGRAMS: BLENDER – SUBSTANCE PAINTER – UNITY
When I started working at x-ingredient, the first task I got was creating a new garden for the VR application for Excluton, a company specialising in garden tiles. Excluton needed an innovative solution to help customers visualize how different tiles would look in their gardens. x-ingredient developed a series of virtual reality (VR) garden environments, allowing customers to experience various garden designs and test out Excluton’s extensive tile collection in a garden that is similar to the one they have at home. In order to help as many customers as possible with a garden that looks similar to theirs Excluton requested a new series of gardens. I began by designing and modeling a house and garden in Blender, crafting structures and layouts to reflect the essence of a Dutch garden. After completing the model, I applied textures to the house and garden elements using Substance Painter. Once the modeling and texturing were done, I imported the assets into Unity and added extra details by implementing small assets and foliage from the existing gardens into the scene. I had the opportunity during my time at X-ingredient to work on 3 different gardens, from which two are already in use.
Below, you can see a few examples of the gardens I’ve created.
